Yoga....for LIFE

The word "yoga" is  from the Sanskrit language and means yoke or union.  Through practicing a series of physical postures or "asana" a person can build tone and flexibility in the physical body. The  regular practice of yoga can have a calming and centering effect on the body and mind.  

I discovered and began practicing yoga in 1995, along with more traditional forms of exercise like running and weight lifting.  In 2008, after many years of dealing with chronic and debilitating back pain, I experienced profound healing through the practice of therapeutic yoga. This lead me to seek training as a yoga teacher so that I could share this healing practice with others. 

I offer both Private Yoga sessions and Group Classes.  

A Private Yoga session is a class tailored to your exact needs and level of practice. I am able to guide you (or you and a small group) through specific movements and alignment adjustments to maximize the benefits and effectiveness of each session. Historically I have offered these sessions in person, but in 2020 things have changed.  A silver lining to the challenges that this year has brought is that I am now offering classes via the Zoom platform and YouTube. That means we can practice together virtually from almost any place on Earth!
